It feels like yesterday when the Nashville Soccer Club, a continuation of the USL team (NSC), joined the MLS, and united tens of thousands of eager soccer fans. From attending my first USL match, to watching the team in the brand new GEODIS park, the fun has continued. The team began MLS play in 2020 and came out strong, placing 7th in their conference. Since then, NSC has maintained a top five conference contented for the last two years.
As millions of viewers around the world tune in for the World Cup, all eyes are on two NSC players who made the cut for the national team. Defenders Walker Zimmerman and Shaquell Moore take the largest stage in the world to not only represent their country, but their Nashville teammates and community. They have helped their team in competing in two thrillers with Wales and England this past week. The two totaled over 190 minutes of play over the two matches, and were major influences on the strong defensive game exhibited by the USA. As they prepare for their match against Iran, it is important that we show them, as well as the rest of the team, our support.
